Diversity and Counseling Summer Institute in Ireland

August 7-18, 2011

Students can receive credit for the master’s course in multicultural counseling or for the doctoral course in multicultural counselor education. Both courses are rigorous, with an on-line dimension for five weeks and the ten days in Ireland.

A 10-day institute set in the beautiful city of Dublin at the mouth of the River Liffey, with access to the surrounding area and a trip to Belfast Northern Ireland to learn about sectarian conflict and diversity. Dublin is one of the fastest growing capital cities in Europe and provides a plethora of historical and cultural sites and experiences. The Institute will be located at the historic Trinity College campus in Dublin. Those in attendance will learn about diversity and the counseling profession in Ireland from local counseling leaders and faculty while also studying with nationally known U.S. counseling faculty about counseling and diversity issues. Participants will visit the historical sites of the surrounding area through guided excursions. Take this chance to experience the culture of Ireland and meet other graduate students and counselors from throughout the U.S.

Get: 3 Graduate credits for COUN 655, 3 Undergraduate credits for HMSV 346, or elective, or 45 continuing education hours
