Substitute positions available

The Capital Region BOCES Substitute Service is currently accepting applications for per diem teaching positions in more than eighty-six component schools located in the Albany, Schenectady, and Schoharie counties.

The School Support Services, a division of the Capital Region BOCES, utilizes an automated solution that integrates database records with Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and browser-based technology. Substitute teachers have access to jobs via Internet and/or telephone.

Eligibility requirements for per diem substitute positions include the following:

• Possession of a Bachelors Degree or completion of student teaching with graduation to follow,
• Completion of all application materials,
• Interview and reference check,
• Adherence to NYSED OSPRA’s state fingerprinting requirement, and
• Haz Com attendance during the current school year.

Additional information found on our website (http://subservice.capregboces.org) includes: district pay rates, scheduling appointments and required documentation, maps and directions, and training.

We are seeking people who enjoy working with students and are looking for experience in the field of education. Substitute work can be very rewarding for those individuals who are exploring or planning a career in education, human resources, academic specific areas, or vocational training.

Applications can be downloaded at http://subservice.capregboces.org . Please call 464-3918 if you have any questions.

If there are others in your department who work in teacher placement and careers, please forward this information and attached posting to them.
Thank you

Sincerely,

Laurence Weidler, Consultant Manager
