The Sage Colleges seek a Mental Health Counselor effective August 22, 2011. Responsibilities of this 3 day per week (10 month) position include providing intake, assessment and counseling to students, assist students in crisis, serve as a resource to the college community in regard to mental health services.

Qualifications: Master’s in Psychology or Social Work, appropriate license, experience in a college counseling setting, and the ability to work with diverse populations.


Salary dependent on qualifications and experience. Candidates from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply.

The Sage Colleges include Russell Sage College for Women in Troy, NY, and the coeducational Sage Graduate School and Sage College of Albany.

Position

GED and Media Tutor (Volunteer Position)

Description:

We are seeking highly motivated and personable individuals to join our team at the Technology, Help & Education Center. As a GED and Media Instructor, you must be willing to undergo a weeklong training session to prepare yourself for the rigors of tutoring the people of South End. We are searching for individuals from all walks of life to learn the skills necessary to help others obtain their GED, teach basic computer concepts, and work the front desk.

Qualifications:

-Any major/background is welcomed

-Basic knowledge in Science, Math, Social Studies, English, Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint

-Six to twelve month commitment preferred

-Ability to work at least`10 hours/week preferred

-Must provide own transportation to/from site

'A HomeWithin" Organization, Ulster County

“A HomeWithin” Organization.

This Saturday, April 16, 2011 evening at 6 pm the Ulster County Chapter of Homewithin will be having a party at Hal Chorny's home , the Ulster County Chapter Director of Home Within.

Home Within is a national movement consisting of therapists who volunteer one hour of their time per week to work with a foster child in need of therapy. They meet once a week on thursday's in Rosendale for group consultation on their cases.

This party is open to anybody who has a private practice in in Ulster County and has any interest in this program. This is an informal party but great opportunity to network and meet the therapists who are in this program. There is no obligation to join the chapter if you come to the party. NEW! Youth Peer Support Group for LGBTQA Youth

New Youth Peer Support Group for (LGBTQA) Youth

There is a new youth peer support group for lesbian, gay, bisexual,

transgender, questioning and ally (LGBTQA) youth that meets in

Schenectady. This group, called "Rainbow Nights" meets every third

Thursday at the Emmanuel Friedens Church (218 Nott Terrace,

Schenectady) from 6 to 7:30PM. The next meeting is Thursday, April

21st.

Please promote this group to any LGBTQA youth ages 13-18 in your

programs who you think would be interested or would benefit from a

peer support youth group in Schenectady! The group is facilitated by

screened and trained adult volunteers. A flyer is attached for you to

print and distribute/post if you'd like.

Rainbow Nights is a program of the Pride Center of the Capital Region.

For more than 25 years, the Pride Center's youth program has been

serving LGBTQA youth all over the Capital Region.
